Answer to Question 1

C

Answer to Question 2

Should include some variation on the following:
(a) recognize that Newton's second law describes the relation between the net force acting on an object, the object's mass, and its acceleration (i.e., Force = mass  acceleration).
(b) equate the two expressions (mass  acceleration = G M1 M2 / d2).
(c) identify which object each variable relates to (Mass of astronaut  acceleration of astronaut = G  Mass of Earth  Mass of astronaut / distance2)
(d) solve the equation for the acceleration of the astronaut (acceleration of astronaut = G  Mass of Earth / distance2)
