Process of Science: Now that Pluto is no longer considered a planet, the number if planets in the Solar System has dropped from 9 to 8. Does this mean that the nebular theory of the Solar System was incorrect?

No, the nebular theory of the Solar System explain broad patterns of motion and composition of the planets, but did not predict their exact number.
