You want to go to graduate school to become a cognitive psychologist. In order to gain acceptance, you develop several subgoals. You work to get a 3.90 GPA in your major and at least a 3.50 GPA overall.
 
  You also start working with faculty members on research so that you can gain research experience and so they can get to know you better and write better letters of recommendation.
