Answer to Question 1

Local climate patterns are very hard to predict, whether the world is warmer or
cooler. If Earth warms, some regions will see increased rainfall; if Earth cools, different
regions will see increased rainfall. (Also see Problem 16-23.)

Answer to Question 2

Because about three-quarters of Earth's surface is ocean, the oceans absorb about
three-quarters of the solar radiation.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.
