Answer to Question 1

As was noted in the text, diversity increases the overall health of the plot, including
the plant output, but the plant matter is not always human food. Monoculture makes the
excess readily available to the observer and the crop is desirable from a human standpoint.

Answer to Question 2

The student's answer should proffer reasons for believing what he or she believes.
For example, that allowing free market to rule is the highest value, or that the free market
distorts the materials flow because it misvalues extractive activities over preservative
activities.
