An ideal air-filled parallel-plate capacitor consists of plates that are 1.0 mm apart and have an area of 1.5  10-4 m2.

  The capacitor is connected to a 12-V potential source (battery). (0 = 8.85  10-12 C2/N  m2)
  (a) What is the capacitance of this capacitor?
  (b) How much charge is on each of its plates?
  (c) What is the strength of the electric field between the plates?

Question 2

A light beam having a wavelength of 470 nm in air is directed into glycerine at an angle of 75.0 with the normal in air.

  Glycerine has a refractive index of 1.47. (c = 3.0  108 m/s)
  (a) What are the frequency and wavelength of the light in the glycerine?
  (b) What angle does the light beam make with the normal in the glycerine?
