Gilbert has been working with his career counselor for several sessions and finds himself in the integrating phase. Through his work with the counselor in the early phases, Gilbert has come to realize that his dream of working in the social services arena was unrealistic considering his need for substantial income to provide for his family. He is now seriously considering attending a technical training program to become a mechanic. After all, he thinks, mechanics also get to work with people some  just not in the same capacity.
