 Inquire about her support systems, including the role of culture in her life
 Ask existential questionshow does she interpret her husband's death (are there unresolved feelings of anger, questioning, etc.? Is there a desire to figure out Why am I here?).
 Inquire, using standardized and non-standardized assessments about interests, skills, values, etc.
 Reflect on her emotions about having to return to work, losing her husband, trying to manage as a single mother, etc.
 Listen for negative self-talk and utilize cognitive reframing exercises.
 Experiences with racism, sexism, ageism, and other forms of discrimination
