Answer to Question 1

Discuss the role of the leader of groups involving children. In what ways does the role of the leader in a group involving children differ from a group involving adults? What are some ways that the group leader can influence what happens in a children's group?
Role of the leader in a children's group varies. In group guidance, the leader is a teaching facilitator who encourages exploration and developmental learning.
Leaders in children's groups are different than in adult groups because they often work from an atheoretical base in regards to the process of change.
The group leader can influence what happens by the way they arrange chairs: a row formation promotes easy presentation; semicircles promote discussion; etc.
