 Trainees are videorecorded
 Trainees are introduced to the skill to be learned
 Trainees read about new skill demonstrated
 Trainees see new skill demonstrated
 Trainees critique original videos
 Trainees make new videos demonstrating new skills
Training is focused on 6 skills:
 Cutting off
 Drawing out
 Holding the focus
 Shifting the focus
 Using eyes
 Tying things together

Compare and contrast the following functions of group leadership: traffic director, modeler of appropriate behavior, interactional catalyst, and communication facilitator.
 Traffic director: leaders help members understand behaviors which help or hinder communication
 Modeler or appropriate behavior: leaders consciously choose actions to demonstrate based on what the group needs to learn
 Interactional catalyst: leaders promote group interactions without drawing attention to themselves
 Communication facilitator: leaders reflect content and feelings to members and teach them to do likewise
