Because children clients, especially younger children, lack some of the sophistication of language and meaning, therapists are highly encouraged to:
 
  a. Treat them as they would all other clients
  b. Use longer sentences to express themselves
  c. Explain everything through the child's parent(s)
  d. Explain the informed consent and the purpose of therapy in short sentences
