Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: The multisensory methods for teaching reading are usually used with children who
encounter reading difficulties. They use VAKT methods (visual, auditory, kinesthetic,
and tactile) multisensory methods to teach children reading. They emphasize phonics,
have sequenced lessons, and use explicit decoding methods.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: Narrative text materials are stories and fictional materials. Informational text
materials are subject matter and content-area materials. Early reading is more
narrative, and as children get into the upper grades, the material becomes more
informational.
