Fred and Barney own a parcel of land as tenants-in-common. Each owns a one-half interest. Barney dies and is survived by his three children. What are the respective interests of the parties:
 
  A. One-half to Fred; one-third each to the surviving children
   B. One-half to Fred; one-sixth each to the surviving children
   C. One-half to Fred; one-third to the oldest surviving child
   D. The entire parcel to Fred
