Harold has committed a horrible crime and will probably be sentenced to several lifetimes in prison. He feels that the mother of his son, and her husband, would be the best family for the child. Prior to sentencing, he wants to terminate his parental rights to allow the mother's husband to adopt the child. What will happen when Harold goes to court?
 
  a. He will be asked by the judge if he does this act voluntarily.
  b. The state will terminate his rights and immediately grant a stepparent adoption.
  c. The child's mother will be required to consent in court.
  d. Harold will not be permitted to proceed pro se.
