It isimportant when constructing a sentence to use a singular subject with a singular verb and plural verbs and pronouns when the subjects are plural. This is referred to as subject/verb agreement. This is the rule of grammar that states that in a sentence, singular subjects must have singular verbs, and plural subjects must have plural verbs.
