Answer to Question 1

Student's answers should reflect on the general isolation of communities of this region from mainland Canada and the chronic unemployment and poverty, and community abandonment from overfishing in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Answer to Question 2

Two of the primary production types are fishing and forestry. Third, and less prevalent could be mineral (including oil and natural gas) and agriculture.
