FEEDBACK: Horney believed that Freud played too passive a role and was too distant and intellectual. She suggested that analysis should be an exquisitely cooperative enterprise between patient and therapist.

FEEDBACK: Horney was so confident of our capacity for self-growth that she emphasized self-analysis in her therapeutic work as well as in her own life. The methods Horney used to assess the functioning of the human personality were essentially those favored by Freudfree association and dream analysisbut with some modification.
