Answer to Question 1

A

Answer to Question 2

Sandwich chains. The lack of differentiation in the sandwich market may mean that the toy becomes the deciding factor, particularly when children exert a major factor in the choice of restaurant. McDonald's pioneered the movement in 1997 with its Teeny Beanie Babies promotion. By making the premium appealing to collectors, return sales were all but assured. The challenge for management became how to turn the customer, initially attracted by the promotion, into a long-term returning customer after the toys are gone. The competition to design toy tie-ins leaves the smaller chains at a distinct disadvantage. Reaching a deal with Hollywood or a TV network is something that only the larger chains can pull off.
