Answer to Question 1

c

Answer to Question 2

A hot stove with its radiating heat gives off a warning that it should not be touched. Team
members that ignore the warning and touch the hot stove, like those who violate a rule, are
assured of being burnt. The hot stove burns immediately and burns each person who touches it in
the same manner. Therefore, disciplinary policies should be administered quickly and
impartially. Team members should be disciplined for what they have done, not because of who
they are.

The hot stove rule outlines four principles:
 An unpleasant experience
 Immediate action
 Consistent punishment
 Impartiality
