Answer to Question 1

Research has shown that the relationship between religious attendance and delinquent behavior is insignificant. Other research, however, has found the opposite. This research indicates that attending religious services decreases the likelihood of engaging in crime. Using differential association theory, this relationship would be expected because religion often communicates definitions unfavorable to the violation of law. These definitions are then reinforced by religious peers.

Answer to Question 2

TRUE
