Answer to Question 1

A number of factors have been commonly linked to abuse and neglect. Family violence seems to be perpetuated from one generation to another within families. The behavior of abusive parents can often be traced to negative experiences in their own childhood. Blended families, which include children living with an unrelated adult such as a stepparent or another unrelated co-resident, have also been linked to abuse. Parents may also become abusive if they are isolated from friends, neighbors, or relatives who can help in times of crisis.

Answer to Question 2

TRUE
