The Daubert doctrine allows the admission in court of expert testimony pertaining
to scientific, technical, or other specialized knowledge that will assist the trier of fact
to understand the evidence or to determine a fact in issue. The Frye doctrine states
that for scientific evidence to be admissible at trial, the procedures used must be
sufficiently established to have gained general acceptance in the particular field to
which they belong. The Daubert doctrine will result in the introduction of more
scientific evidence because. There is no requirement that the scientific evidence
have gained general acceptance in the field.
