Component models of detail parts or assemblies can be obtained from suppliers and manufacturers. These models save the designer time and reduce the potential for error but can be difficult to use in a constraint-based model. Why? What advantage does the supplier gain from this service?

What will be an ideal response?

Question 2

Answer to Question 1

Most constraint-based modeling software allows you to add and import non-constraint-based parts to the constraint-based assembly so they can be represented during the design refinement process.

Common parts are also available in libraries that ship with your software or in third-party part libraries. These parts often have the advantage of being modeled using constraints so their sizes can easily be changed.

Answer to Question 2

Use File / Import.
