Answer to Question 1

ANS: T
Satellites measure the distance of the ocean surface from that of the satellite. Gravity pulls water
towards the sides of bathymetric features like undersea mountains. Since the water gets pulled in, it
creates a mound of water above the feature. Information can be found in the section Ocean Floor Is
Mapped by Bathymetry

Answer to Question 2

ANS: T
There are more continental shelves and slopes than there are continental mountains. This is a testament
to how much the edges of continents are submerged. The continental crust totals 29.2 and 11.4 of
that is shelves and slopes. Information can be found in the section Continental Margins May Be Active
or Passive.

Although the Roman numeral for the number 4 has always been taught to have been "IV," according to historians, the ancient Romans probably used "IIII" most of the time. This is partially backed up by the fact that early grandfather clocks displayed IIII for the number 4 instead of IV. Early clockmakers apparently thought that the IIII balanced out the VIII (used for the number 8) on the clock face and that it just looked better.

Though Candida and Aspergillus species are the most common fungal pathogens causing invasive fungal disease in the immunocompromised, infections due to previously uncommon hyaline and dematiaceous filamentous fungi are occurring more often today. Rare fungal infections, once accurately diagnosed, may require surgical debridement, immunotherapy, and newer antifungals used singly or in combination with older antifungals, on a case-by-case basis.

Before a vaccine is licensed in the USA, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reviews it for safety and effectiveness. The CDC then reviews all studies again, as well as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Every lot of vaccine is tested before administration to the public, and the FDA regularly inspects vaccine manufacturers' facilities.
