Answer to Question 1

The mass movement of air, wind, carries water vapor throughout the atmosphere. This helps minimize
extreme surface temperatures. The water vapor can condense and provide rain for various regions
which allows for agriculture to be successful. Information can be found in the section The Atmosphere
and Ocean Interact with Each Other.

Answer to Question 2

The intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) changes with season. It tends to be slightly farther north in
the northern summer and more towards the equator during the northern winter. Information can be
found in the section Atmospheric Circulation Generates Large-Scale Surface Wind Patterns.
