The three domains or superkingdoms of life divide organisms according to cell type (prokaryotic and eukaryotic), but in addition, bacteria-like organisms are further divided into the Archaea, which are extremophiles, from the rest of the bacteria. Besides the Kingdom Monera, the four remaining kingdoms consist of unicellular and multicellular eukaryotic organisms that are classified based upon their modes of nutrition such as the Fungi, Animalia, and Plantae.
