Good answers should define arrest and investigatory stops.The history of the arrest definition should be traced from the former definition of an arrest being simple restrictions on a person's movement to the current definition of something beyond brief investigatory detentions. (The Court in Terry v. Ohio distinguished between arrests that eventuate in a trip to the stationhouse and prosecution for crime and lesser intrusions that can occur whenever a police officer accosts an individual and restrains his freedom to walk away,
