Answer to Question 1

Archetypical characters embody the concentrated essence of particular virtues, vices, and emotions and seem to transcend their specific context and speak across cultures and centuries. Psychological characters are richly drawn with detailed back stories and complex motivations and desires. Stock characters are defined by externals, such as class, occupation, or marital status, rather than individual characteristics. Deconstructed characters reveal that character is a performance of socially prescribed role, and demonstrate identity to be a creation of those in control of the social order.
