Answer to Question 1

Theatre companies, such as the Wooster Group and The Builders Association, and director Robert Lepage envision their work through the active integration of film, video, computers, high-tech sound, and other digital media with theatre's live action, creating what can be termed a techno-theatre aesthetic.

Answer to Question 2

Interculturalism has inspired many directors to freely incorporate elements from diverse cultures into their production concepts. For example, French director Ariane Mnouchkine has used acting styles, costumes, makeup, and musical instruments and rhythms inspired by Asian traditions. Ninagawa Yukio has done kabuki-esque versions of ancient Greek tragedies and Shakespeare. Singaporean director Ong Keng Sen creates productions that mix Western classics with an array of Asian traditional theatrical forms, including those from Asian cultures outside his own.
