In a myelinated axon, action potentials are produced
 
  a. only at the axon hillock.
 b. only at the axon hillock and at the nodes of Ranvier.
 c. along the entire length of the axon membrane.
 d. only under segments of myelin.

Action potentials only go in one direction, away from the cell body, because
