The advantages are that it is inexpensive, easy to install and maintain, and may be installed on any grade. It resists acids and alkalis, and withstands strong cleaning compounds. The disadvantages are its low impact resistance, poor noise absorption, and it semiporous when compared to solid vinyls and solid rubber.
