Answer to Question 1

Answers may include:
1 . Making clothes that take into account the environment, health of consumers, and the
conditions of workers in the industry.
2 . Organic raw materials, such as cotton grown without pesticides, and silk made by worms
fed on organic trees.
3 . No harmful chemicals and bleaches to color fabrics.
4 . Garments made of recycled materials and reused textiles.
5 . Apparel made to last, to use long period of times
6 . Fair trade items, by those paid a fair wage, and under decent working conditions.
Students should cite examples and develop each.
