Answer to Question 1

The curriculum goals include advancement of physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development that meet childrens needs; creation of a safe and healthy learning environment; promotion of positive relationships with families; and development of professionalism.

Answer to Question 2

The accreditation process begins with the provider reviewing the accreditation workbook and identifying areas needing improvement. The provider makes designs and implements an improvement plan. When the provider is ready, she or he notifies the NAFCC to schedule a visit. The provider then completes the self-observation. Scoring is then done by the visiting observer. If the scores are high enough, the home is accredited.
