A holistic approach allows the curriculum to evolve based on childrens individual and group abilities and interests. An academic approach involves determining outcomes that can be measured and then planning a program to help children achieve those goals.

Answer to Question 2

After-school programs can improve childrens academic performance, improve childrens social and communication skills, can show decreased delinquency, contribute to healthier lifestyles through increased knowledge of nutrition and exercise.
