Accept that families are different. Examine their own prejudices. Be open to recognizing the strengths of each family. Increase their knowledge about the changes that have taken place in the last decade.

Answer to Question 2

Establish a liaison with elementary school teachers in order to monitor childrens academic achievement. Know when to refer parents for outside help. Establish a close relationship with parents.
