ANSWER: Answers will vary: Curriculum topics should include: general health care such as hand washing, teeth brushing, and nutrition, AIDS education, healthy life styles, bike and fire safety, and drug education. Strategies may include involving families, role-playing, smallgroup activities, brainstorming, simulations, cooperative learning and discussions based on student interest and involvement, therapeutic relationship is important for children who have been affected by substance abuse, integration across other curriculum areas.

ANSWER: Children with mild disabilities such as specific learning disabilities, mild mental retardation, behavior disorders, and ADHD tend to have difficulties with both peers and teachers. They tend to have poorer social skills, exhibit more interfering problem behaviors, and be poorly accepted or even rejected by peers. Children with specific language impairment tend to be withdrawn and have low levels of social interaction. They want to be involved in peer activities, but are anxious, are afraid, and have poor entry skills.
