ANSWER: When we respect the child, we respect the childs right to privacy over his own body and what is done to it, including photographing or audio-/videotaping. We uphold the ethics of respecting the child.

ANSWER: Audio recorder
Advantages: It is good for capturing language development.
Disadvantages: Often it is after you have heard something that you would like to have recorded it; background noises in classrooms make it difficult to obtain a clear recording; it may cause inhibited behavior.
Video recorder
Advantages: You get a realistic documentation with all details present to be reviewed again and again.
Disadvantages: It is expensive; unwieldy to use; it may cause inhibited behavior.
Photographs
Advantages: You preserve a visual of the activity, good for memory stretching.
Disadvantages: It may be expensive, it may cause inhibited behavior.
