Conception begins with the following three events:
 
  a. The menstrual cycle reaches its midpoint, the ovum reaches the fallopian tube, the male ejaculates semen that race to the ovum.
  b. The ovum reaches the fallopian tube, the male ejaculates semen, the sperm race toward the waiting ovum.
  c. The ovum reaches the fallopian tube, the male ejaculates semen, the sperm enters the membrane of the ovum.
