Answer to Question 1

Safe environments support learning by encouraging children to explore and experiment without fear of being hurt. In addition, they also reassure families that children will be safe when they are away from home. Safe environments are less stressful for teachers to work in and reduce the risk of avoidable injury to adults and children, decrease the potential for liability due to negligence, and reduce the loss of time teachers would otherwise spend caring for injured children.
