Answer to Question 1

Teachers can watch for early signs of bullying and being bullied in the environment. If there is unacceptable behavior, it is important for teachers to intervene so that this type of behavior stops before the problem escalates. They must set behavior limits and ensure that there are consequences for unacceptable behavior. Intervention by the teacher in the classroom can help. When children are given developmentally appropriate ways to understand bullying, it is reduced and teachers can create ansetting that is safe and developmentally appropriate. Adults can be role models for positive, warm relations and can help children by mediating disputes at any age. Teachers can also take opportunities for talking about bullying, giving children an opportunity to discuss it, and sharing the ideas of empathy, compassion, and caring.

Answer to Question 2

Attachment is a major influence on children in their early years when they are developing their emotions and learning to be social with others. Secure attachment leads to the development of curiosity, caring, cooperation, emotional regulation, and learning how to resolve conflict.
