Explain that prejudice means not being fair in the way you treat someone because of the way they look or something to that effect. Let children know that unjust things can be changed.
Encourage children to challenge unfair things and involve children in taking action on unfair issues relevant to their lives. Help children resist bias, develop a moral sense, value the differences between people as much as the similarities, and, most important, treat others with respect regardless of their background or color.
