Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: As a teacher, you should teach less and experience more by observing how eagerly the children use their senses to discover, to think about their experiences, and to talk about what they have seen and done. You will be learning right along with the children as you reinforce their curiosity and natural interests. Teaching strategies involve a cooperative atmosphere where children and teachers are co-inquirers in the problem-solving process.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: Place water in a water table or large plastic tub and let children add several drops of food coloring they select; let them experiment with what sinks and what floats; introduce them to absorption and evaporation; let them investigate water by making and blowing bubbles.
