Answer to Question 1

ANSWER: The environment should have a personal space or cubby for each child with her name or photo. Display children's art, special projects, pictures, and bulletin boards at their eye level. Have a variety of well-defined learning centers that involve hands- on experiences with a variety of materials. Arrange the environment to allow children access to materials, supplies, and learning centers. The selection of outdoor equipment and materials emphasizes safety, durability, and age appropriateness for all children.

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER: The environment tells children how to act and respond. In other words, the environment tells children what is expected in how they use materials, how they move their bodies in the available space, and how they need to interact with each other.
