ANSWER:
Chapter books (books that are created especially for those readers who are moving toward being able to read and comprehend increasingly complex texts), series books (same characters in varying situations across many different books), novels in verse (books in poetry form), graphic novels (novels with graphics that are a significant part of the storytelling).

Answer to Question 2

ANSWER:
In the early twentieth century, adventure stories for boys and home stories for girls continued, giving way in the middle of the century to a new realism in books for young readers. Social concerns such as violence, sex, drugs, and difficult life decisions became literary issues in the mid to later half of the century. Books that embrace diversity are also more common.
