Answer to Question 1

ANSWER:
The choices teachers make should not be based solely upon personal values and preferences but on those values, judgments, and ethical commitments shared by the professional association of which they are a member. This provides the collective wisdom and advice from a broad base of professionals and can be a measure to govern professional behavior. It says that a group has recognized the moral dimension of its work. It supports teachers in the decisions they make through a recognized and articulated set of professional values that all members of the field consider inviolate.
