Answer to Question 1

The advantage of being a grandparent is that it is a fulfilling role that brings back many of the joys and satisfactions of their own family life. This includes physical contact and a sense of being needed and useful. They can enjoy the grandchildren without the obligations and responsibilities they had with their own children. On the other hand, there are disadvantages. These are the loss of freedom, possibly troubled or unruly grandchildren, financial hardship, and problems with the child's parents over discipline.
