Question 1

This patient sustained a crushing injury to his jaw and neck. Emergency department studies revealed the larynx to be the most critical injury. He was taken to surgery for repair of a laryngeal fracture which he tolerated well. He will be returning to the operating suite tomorrow for attention to the other injuries.
