Question 1

The physician excised a benign lesion of the hand that was reported as 3.0 cm x 2.0 cm. Documentation in the operative report states that 0.5 cm margins were excised around the lesion.

Question 2

The patient is a 69-year-old woman with a sebaceous cyst on the left side of her face that has started to get larger. She presents now for excision of the cyst. In the operating room, the cyst was dissected away from the surrounding tissues, with an excised area of 2.0 cm x 0.5 cm. The patient tolerated the procedure well.
