The study of addiction is important because:
 
  a. Alcoholism is the root of drug abuse, and decreasing alcoholism will decrease all drug abuse
  b. Each abused drug operates via different neurotransmitters, therefore we know there cannot be a common biomechanism and we need to look for psychological mechanisms
  c. The evidence illustrates the interplay between genetics and environmental influences
  d. We now know that dopamine is the neurotransmitter that we should focus treatments on
