Police are investigating a homicide of a 22-year-old female. The victim is nude, bearing two knife wounds to the chest and appears to have been sexually assaulted. Close examination of the extremities reveals clearly visible multiple cuts on the palms, forearms and fingers of both hands. What do these wounds on the hands possibly indicate?
